In Bruce County, heating with wood is very popular method. Combined with the comfort of hydronic heat, and your shop, work space, or home warm and dry during our long cold winters.

Properly managed, wood,  is viable and sustainable option to fight climate change in comfort!

Pictured to the lower right is a farm shop with PEX tubing installed on specialized foam insulation.

Bervie Supply, owned by Levi Albrecht, is heated hydronically. On the coldest of winter days, the overhead doors might be opened to facilitate the movement of inventory. Once the door is closed, the shop is warm almost instantaneously as the thermal energy stored in the mass of concrete radiates comfortable heat throughout the whole shop.

Even wood Flooring, while lacking the storage mass of concrete con be heated hydronically in older homes as seen by the pictures below: Pictured below is my foot captured on a smart phone, normal lighting.

Below is a picture taken with an inferred camera attachment for a smart phone. Tubing is held to the underside of the floor by aluminum shielding, leaving the visible heat patterns.
